If you say Carletti most people think off the well known “Skumbananer” and “P-Tærter”. But that is by far not all the candy they offer. Carletti owns many other brands like: Evers, Jakobsen, Brazil, Kæmpeplade, Big Ben and Den Runde. In 1918 two brothers called Henry Peder Jakobsen and Niels Carl Jakobsen started selling candy and chocolate in a little shop at the backside of their parents’ house in Aarhus. That same year the deadly Spanish flu spread quickly all over the world. Niels Carl Jakobsen became sick and eventually died in a short amount of time after they opened their candy shop. After a while in 1943 the family decided to honor him by creating the brand name ‘Carletti’. Carletti means ‘little Carl’ in Italian. The family continued making candy for more than over a decade now. In 2006 became Carletti part of the Danish Givesco-concern.
