Tørsleffs Freezing Powder
Description: Freezing powder for raw cooking without boiling, without preservation.
Freezing powder is a vegetable thickener for jams that have not been cooked ("frozen"), ie raw jam. You use only very little sugar and the loss of vitamins is limited because the process is short-lived.
After defrosting the frozen items must be stored in the refrigerator.
JAM: 1 kg berry, possibly 3 cups sugar, 1 bag freezing powder.
COOKING: Cut large berries into smaller pieces, mix freezing powder and sugar together. Pour mixture over the berries and stir vigorously so the mixture is evenly distributed. Pour the uncooked jam into smaller packages and freeze immediately. After defrosting, the jams should be stored in the refrigerator and used within a week.
