Karen Volf was a hard working farmer girl who started a bakery and pastry shop back in 1890. Since then, the companies have grown to become Denmark's largest cake factory, and today they supply a big selection of baked goods for the Danish coffee and dessert tables.
The traditions, the craftsmanship and the good ingredients can be tasted and Karen Volf Original Kammerjunkere is today an indispensable part of the Danish summer menu.
Kammerjunkere is of course perfect in a buttermilk soup (koldskål) - perhaps together with fresh strawberries or other summer berries. But it is also good in other desserts. For example crushed in the bottom of a cheesecake.
